A producer of alumina and electrolytic aluminum in Guangxi, China, was facing multiple issues with their existing system of five 110 kW liquid ring compressors. These compressors, operating at an actual power of 70 kW and delivering 42.4 m³/min of air flow, were inefficient, consumed excessive energy, and were prone to frequent breakdowns. The inadequate air pressure and the excessive number of machines in operation led to low equipment redundancy and inefficiency.
To address these challenges, Xinran implemented two 132 kW screw blowers to replace the five outdated liquid ring compressors. This strategic upgrade brought several benefits:
- The screw blowers provided stable air flow and pressure, ensuring that the flatbed filters could operate effectively under normal production conditions with backwash air pressures between 0.2 to 0.4 MPa.
- The new system achieved an energy saving rate of over 30%.
- Noise levels were reduced to below 80 dB, adhering to national standards and significantly improving the working environment.
The adoption of oil-free screw blowers by Xinran significantly reduced production costs and enhanced operational efficiency. The factory was recognized by the government as an "Advanced Energy-Saving Unit," marking its achievements in sustainability and efficiency.
